Service Alerts

MDOT MTA Service Alerts is a unified system that drives alerts and advisories to our Service Alerts page, our Twitter account, our eAlert system, and a GTFS-RT Service Alert feed that 3rd parties like the Transit App may consume. Details on these and legacy systems are below.

eAlert - Email/Text

Sign up for as few or as many of our services as you want. You can choose eNotifications for CityLink, LocalLink, Commuter Bus, Light RailLink, MARC Train, and Metro SubwayLink services. Our alert system allows our customers to customize their own alerts by choosing the service type, station, routes, and lines as well as service times and dates. Sign up for eAlerts here!

Important notes for the MTA eAlert system:

  • After signing up, ensure that the address <[email protected]> is on your approved or "safe" list.  If you are using a business or educational email address, you may need to contact your IT department to have the address added.
  • If you are not receiving eAlerts, be sure to check you spam, junk, promotions, or other bulk mail folder and if they are being routed to these folders, be sure to mark them as "not junk", "safe", or "deliver to inbox"

Snow Guide

When winter weather strikes, transit systems are affected. Check out our Snow Guide for information on how to stay up-to-date on inclement weather alerts, advisories, and necessary diversions. Know before you go!
