Baltimore Montessori Public Charter School Families to Receive Holiday Gifts

BALTIMORE, MD (December 18, 2023) – The Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration Police are continuing their tradition of adopting local families during the holiday season. Assisted by Santa and Mrs. Claus, Maryland Transit Administration police will distribute holiday gifts this week to select families from the Baltimore Montessori Public Charter School.

“I’m honored to serve with such amazing and generous officers who make up the Maryland Transit Administration Police family,” said Police Chief Jerome Howard. “They volunteer their time and money to make the holiday season special for Baltimore families in need.”

During the past 21 years, Maryland Transit Administration Police officers have made the holiday season brighter for more than 200 families from local schools by providing gifts and meals through the Adopt-A-Family program.

The holiday Adopt-A-Family program is one of many volunteer outreach initiatives by Maryland Transit Administration Police to support local communities. Other annual events include the Polar Bear Plunge and Torch Run to benefit Special Olympics of Maryland, National Night Out and a Back-to-School Supply Drive.
