BALTIMORE, MD (June 30, 2023) – With a wide variety of July 4th festivities planned in and around the region, the Maryland Transit Administration encourages everyone to take public transit to enjoy the celebration. Transit is a sensible alternative to the stress of traffic and expensive parking, whether enjoying a fireworks display or taking part in other holiday events.

“Taking transit is a smart move, and even smarter when you use the real-time arrival information on the Transit app,” said Maryland Transit Administrator Holly Arnold. “And with CharmPass, riders have a convenient, secure way to pay their fares.”

The Transit app is a free smartphone application for viewing bus and rail vehicle locations in real time, predicted arrival times, step-by-step navigation to stops, and alerts regarding service disruptions. CharmPass is a mobile phone fare payment app that stores transit fare on your phone so you always have it handy, and with its CharmFlex option, even offers a discount off regular fares.
