Maryland Transit Administration to Host Onsite Hiring Event on May 13 for Bus Operators

BALTIMORE, MD(April 27, 2023)– The Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration will host a hiring event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 13, for those interested in becoming a bus operator. Staff from Human Resources, Bus Operations and other areas will be available to discuss job opportunities, explain the hiring process and answer questions.
 

Attendees will be able to complete multiple steps in the application process at the event – application submission, required assessment testing and background processing authorizations. Successful candidates will be able to secure a conditional job offer before leaving. The next bus operator training classes begin May 22 and June 26.

The hiring event will be held at the Bush Bus Division, 1515 Washington Blvd., Baltimore. Bus operator testing will be held at 10:45 a.m., 11:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. and will take approximately two-and-a-half hours to complete. Candidates should plan to arrive 30 minutes in advance of testing times to complete required paperwork. Advance registration is preferred but not required. All applicants should bring a valid a driver’s license and a resume, if available. Individuals interested in becoming a bus operator also should bring a current driving record (no more than 30 days old). Current bus operators will be onsite to answer questions about job benefits and available career paths.
 

Bus operators receive competitive pay with regular raises and overtime potential.
