FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BALTIMORE, MD (OCTOBER 21, 2017) – The Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA) and its regional partners will conduct an emergency response exercise on Saturday, October 21, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Monocacy MARC Train Station.
“This drill is part of our ongoing effort to ensure the safety and security of our riding public,” said Erich Kolig, MDOT MTA’s Deputy Chief Operating Officer for Rail. “We emphasize working with local safety and law enforcement agencies to make sure we are fully prepared for emergencies.”
The exercise will take place on Saturday to avoid any interruptions to regular MARC Train service. Many first responders will be on site. And, area residents can expect to see flashing lights from numerous emergency vehicles near the Monocacy MARC Train Station during this drill.
MDOT MTA asks the public to avoid the exercise site at Monocacy MARC Train Station since large emergency vehicles will be in use.
