Governor Hogan Names Kevin Quinn MDOT MTA Administrator

Governor Larry Hogan today named Kevin B. Quinn, Jr., Administrator of the Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA). He has been serving as the MDOT MTA Acting Administrator since June 6. 

“Kevin is a smart transportation professional who has proven time and time again he knows how to make great things happen for the customers he serves,” said Governor Hogan. “The State of Maryland will truly benefit from this transit expertise and his ability to turn ideas into real-world solutions.”

Administrator Quinn was promoted from his position as Director of Planning and Programming. In his previous role, he worked directly with numerous departments, from administration to operations, to ensure MDOT MTA took a proactive approach to deliver great service for all transit riders. He was recently honored as one of Mass Transit Magazine’s “40 Under 40” for 2016 for innovation, demonstrated leadership and a commitment to making an impact in transit.

“In just a few months, Kevin has shown his commitment to delivering a true transit network in the Baltimore region and throughout Maryland with strong leadership, innovation and collaboration with all our transit partners,” said Transportation Secretary Pete K. Rahn.

He also has private sector experience as the Mid-Atlantic Regional Planning Manager focused on transportation planning for STV of Baltimore. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from Goucher College and a Master of Public Policy from The Johns Hopkins University.
